Introduction
When I was young, I remember standing in the checkout line with my Dad on one of our trips to the hardware store. I remember seeing a display box of Power Prop Flying Gliders for sale and asking my Dad if I could have one. I think they cost $1.00 each and my Dad bought me one. Over time I collected the entire set of 12 and added many doubles to my collection. I spent many hours playing with these gliders. After a while I lost interest in the gliders and moved on to other interests but the box of gliders remained in my closet. Fast forward almost twenty years, and my brother in law randomly buys 2 styrofoam gliders at a convenience store and gives them to me. All these fond memories came flooding back as I tossed the gliders around. Just for kicks I went on Ebay and ordered a few more just for fun. Fast forward to current day, and I have a massive collection of all kinds of gliders from different parts of the world. In my free time I am planning on posting pictures of my gliders to this blog. I hope you enjoy browsing the pictures.

ReplyDeleteI came into possession of a pile of those counterfeit jets a while back. They're ghastly, but kind of lovable.
Also, you may have noticed this already, but the otherwise-identical packaging of counterfeit Power Prop Gliders differs from that of genuine PPGs, in that the propeller logo is absent.

ReplyDeleteYes, the counterfeits are pretty ugly but some of them fly quite well!
I have noticed that genuine PPG have different packaging. If they are made in Taiwan they seem to be genuine as well. Anything that is made in China or that comes in a plastic wrapper is almost guaranteed to be fake.

Do you know of a good reliable vendor to get the actual product?
ReplyDeleteI have made most of my purchases from Ebay. I would recommend to check there as there are often some of the actual, non-counterfeited Power Prop Flying Gliders for sale.
