Playwrite - de Havilland DH 82A Tiger Moth MK II

Playwrite Gliders - Introduction

This is my collection of de Havilland DH 82A Tiger Moth MK II gliders made by Playwrite. There are 3 different gliders, each with different markings. One has Swedish Air Force orange and yellow markings, another has RAF camouflage markings and another has RAD orange markings. They each come in a single sheet and have to be punched out. The fuselage is 13.5 centimeters long and the wingspan is about 16 centimeters.

This is my collection of Royal Air Force Combat Aircraft Gliders. There are three WWII gliders, a WWII bomber and three more modern fighter jets to collect. I only have the three WWII gliders. The fuselages are 22 centimeters long and the wingspan is 23 centimeters. They are incredibly detailed, although I don't like how the wings were printed on below the slots where the actual wings are inserted. Oh yah, and they don't fly very well at all.

The package says F-15E, but printed across the side of the glider is F-18 Hornet. So, it appears that the #5 glider is supposed to be in the #3 package.

The package says F-18. However, printed on the side of the glider within says "F-15 E AGIE", which I presume is supposed to be the F-15 Eagle. So it appears that gliders in the #3 package are supposed to be in the #5 package.

This is my collection of Jet Fighters that were made in China. Sadly, it seems that most of the gliders that I have purchased that were made in China have turned out to be cheap imitations of gliders made elsewhere. This set consists of 6 gliders, but I am missing 2, as follows:

#5 F-15E
#6 F-20 <Missing from collection>

It wasn't until later that I purchased a box of gliders which I believe were the originals that these poor counterfeit models were based on. At some point I will post side by side comparison pictures.

Famous Fighters in the Battle of Britain

This are the 2 gliders that I have out of the set of 3 of the "Famous Fighter in the Battle of Britain" set. You can see by the price tag that they were once purchased from the Imperial War Museum in Britain for 1 pound. I got them on E-Bay. I am currently searching for the Bf 109 as I would like to complete this set. The fuselages are about 28 centimeters long, and the wings are 32 centimeters long. These gliders come with little landing gear sets, which is pretty cool.
