Flying Pterosaur Glider - Introduction

This is a slight departure from the airplane photos.  I remember being in the Calgary Zoo gift shop as a kid and seeing these dinosaur gliders.  I recall seeing these and wanting them REALLY badly.  I had enough money to buy 3 of the 4 gliders and I am pretty sure my parents refused to lend me the extra $1.00 at the time.

These gliders were made in Taiwan.  There appear to be 4 of them in the set, but they are listed as follows:

#5 - Pterandon
#6 - Dimorphodon
#7 - Pterodactylus
#8 - Rhamphorhynchus

I have #6, 7 & 8.  I looked online to see if I could locate a #5, but it would appear that the design of these has changed.  The current versions appear to look more like cartoons.

I noticed that the logos on the top right side of the packages is the same logo that shows up on the vintage gliders that I posted about recently.

(Vintage) Flying Gliders - Introduction

This is my collection of "Flying Gliders", which appear to pre-date the "Power Prop Flying Gliders" that I posted a while ago.  I think that these "Flying Gliders" are older because the art work on the packaging is much more detailed than on any of the  the "Power Prop Flying Gliders".  Take a moment to look back and compare them if you wish.

I have 11 of the 12 gliders.  The only glider that I do not have is the #12 Piper Tri-Pacer glider.  I am keeping watch for it on E-bay so I can complete the set.

Plastic / Tru-Flite Glider

There are pictures of 2 identical gliders that I purchased at 2 separate times from E-bay.  The shape of the plane suggests to me that it is either a Grumman F6F Hellcat or a Grumman F4F Wildcat.

The first glider came in a plastic bag. There was a paper label stapled on the top of the bag which, as you can see, describes it as a "Plastic Glider".  The label suggests that there are 4 in this set.  The picture at the bottom of this post labels the glider as a Tru-Flite Glider.  Both labels say "Toys That Really Fly" which suggests the same company made & packaged these gliders.

I assembled the glider that came in the plastic bag.  It was difficult to assemble and I cracked the tail pretty badly.  I plan on leaving the other glider in its packaging.
