In my youth I only ever had 2 of these Spitfire Mk.II's, I always thought they were limited edition, but of course I had to wait about 12 years to finally get my hands on a 3rd!
I do kind of prefer this Spitfire to the Mk.I variant, but saying that, the Mark.I and II both share the same in wing and fuselage shapes, and different colourisations differ between the two planes and marks!
I find that this fuselage shape is a lot more narrow than the Mk.1. The perfect example of what I mean is the one I didn't assemble in the "Vintage" set that I posted. I feel like the Mk.1 is much wider towards the nose.
I have to agree that the Spitfire Mk.1 is more bulbous compared to this, and that the original vintage version was fatter still, but the last version which was released in the 90's, it lost a lot of weight and gained more detail and colour
I'd love to see a picture if you have any. I can post your pictures and credit them to you as a "guest contributor" or "fellow styrofoam glider enthusiast" :)

ReplyDeleteMy box of Taiwan gliders came with 4 of these in it :) The one that I have assembled here is definitely one of my best flyers.

ReplyDeleteThe propeller kind of looks like it's been feathered, how will it spin?
ReplyDeleteThey don't spin very fast when after they are thrown even it if the propellor is in the best shape possible.
